A letter from Mrs. Holt, our wonderful science lab teacher:
The Seed Dispersal assignment was given during your child's science lab on Friday, and I assured them Ms. Fun would give them time in class to work on it. Their product could be a story, diorama, PowerPoint, pamphlet, puppet show or skit. Students should not spend any money on the project; instead, they should collect all materials from outside or at home.
Students will make their presentation during their regular science lab time on Friday, September 20th (9:10 - 10:00) and should show:
1) the seed dispersal method they are trying to portray; and 2) the adaptation of the seed.
It should be clear to the audience what these 2 things are. For instance, if their dispersal method is "Sticking to an animal," the story should portray an animal that has fur, and a sticker or burr gets stuck in their fur. The story should describe the barbs or prickles in the seed that causes it to stick to the fur. I have plenty of puppets and they will have time to get it together before they present.
If you have any questions about this project, please email me (include your teacher's name) at [email protected].
